SkyWatch: The Cosmos Sculpture

Jeddah's Cosmos Sculpture is one of the city's most well known landmarks.  It is the work of German artist Ottmar Hollmann and took seven years to complete.  It ranks as one of the world's largest pieces of art.

Sadly it's going to be removed Because they're going to build a bridge there

I'm sure they will just relocate it, as they have many other sculptures like the Bicycle and ones on the Corniche. They won't just trash it.

William - Sadly enough, my impression is that people around here mostly take the public art for granted and don't seem to appreciate it much. Jeddah is a city with many amazing public art sculptures, which were neglected for many years. Some were graffitied, many were in disrepair, some were vandalized. I am happy that efforts have been made to rectify the situation, but I still sense a lack of appreciation from the public.
