Jeddah Cultural Club

While there are no movie theaters in Jeddah, this building of the Literary Cultural Club houses a lovely auditorium where movie screenings or other events are sometimes offered for members.

Interesting looking building.

Are events only for members or are they open to the public?

Hi Jerry - I believe they hold monthly meetings for members at the facility, and for events, others might be invited. Many events held here require pre-registration and if your name isn't on the list, you won't be admitted.

It looks like it fits in with that part of the world.

So, people wait for the DVD release?

We can purchase DVDs of many movies that are still in the theaters. These are illegal copies and the quality may not be very good though. Most of these DVDs can be bought for 5 SR to 20 SR (about $1.25 US - $4 US). We can also watch recently released movies online on different streaming websites. It's surprising the variety of films we have access to here in Saudi Arabia.
