There are so many hotels in Jeddah now. This one is the Holiday Inn on Medina Road, fairly close to the airport.  I like how the windows reflect the glow of the setting sun.

Pretty Compound Pool Area in Jeddah

There are many compounds in Jeddah where expats workers are housed. Many of them have a resort feel to them. This is a pool area inside one of Jeddah's compounds.  

A bit of Magic and Artful Letters

I rather fancy this magic lamp!  I believe it's made of pewter.  Next to it is a gold pendant which represents the Arabic letter "noon" which is the sound of the letter N.

This one represents the "ya" letter in Arabic. It looks very graceful, don't you think?

This one says "Ummi" which means "Mom" in Arabic.
