This post shows the variety of Saudi men's traditional clothing. I think Saudi men look quite dapper in their native dress.

 

JEDDAH MOSQUE VARIATIONS

Saudi Arabia is abundant with mosques every few blocks or so.  Along the freeways, places to pray are provided for travelers, even in the middle of nowhere.  Some mosques are enormous and stately, while others are tiny and old and look like they could use some TLC.

I chuckled at the first photo - a fitness center located above an ice cream shop and a donut shop.

Arabic calligraphy still looks like beautiful art to me - hard to imagine it actually says something.

ASIR HOME DECOR DESIGN - Al-Qatt Al-Asiri

Al-Qatt Al-Asiri is a traditional Saudi home decorating application where bright colors are hand-painted onto plastered walls as murals in geometric lines and shapes, like triangles, squares, stripes, branches and arrows.  

Women of the Asir region in Saudi Arabia are credited with creating this old technique, originally intended to decorate the entryway of the home to welcome guests.  The paintings eventually spread to the rest of the home, in hallways, sitting rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms.  Wealthier households were adorned with more intricate designs, more colors and patterns, while not so affluent homes sported simpler designs.
