I'd love to start a collection of these charming teapots I saw at the local Turkish-Afghani souk. I love the shapes, colors and pattern designs of the teapots. Susie I went into a 'pop up' shop just this morning that was selling beautiful things just like this, he won't be there very long so I took the opportunity to get a variety of gorgeous cushion covers to give my chairs a bit of lift.
ReplyDeleteI just love looking in shops that have stuff like this. Glad you have them there too. I like recovering my cushions too - to change things up a bit.

ReplyDeleteThese are very nice. I can see them lining the kitchen cabinets.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful teapots!! I wish that they were available worldwide.
ReplyDeleteSusie, about how much do these tea pots cost in US dollars. I have a small collection of small teapots and would love to have one of the colorful enameled teapots. Louise
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I didn't price them. Next time I'm down there, I'll check on it for you.
DeleteHi Susie, I am an American lady visiting my husband here in the kingdom who is an expatriate worker. I love these teapots, and am wondering if the Turkish afghani souk is the only place to purchase these. I would love one to take home to the usa. I love your blog and enjoy all your wonderful photography. Is there one particular place in the afghani souk to purchase these?
ReplyDeleteThey might be available elsewhere too. Just take a stroll through the shops in the Afghan souk and ask a few of the shopkeepers about what you are looking for. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Best Wishes!
DeleteThanks so much for replying to my post. I am enjoying my stay here in the kingdom. I am having so much fun. Just visited Balad last night. It is so fascinating and interesting. I was here in 1985-1990. Jeddah has really changed. I am so happy to be back here once again. Hoping to explore the Afghan souk this weekend. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome! I hope you love the Afghani souk as much as I do!
DeleteHi Susie! Do you remember the name of this specific shop... I'm trying to locate it

ReplyDeleteI don't know the name of the shop, but it's a bigger shop with several crowded rooms. They also sell carpets, furniture, jewelry, clothing, lighting, etc. If you just wander around the Afghan souk area on the main street, you will probably find it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
