This quaint terracotta colored mosque is located on the Corniche in Jeddah which runs along the Red Sea coastline. Not far from the mosque is one of Jeddah's many unique sculptures of a colorful Moroccan style lamp, visible to the left.
Hi Jerry - I got MUCH better photos of this mosque this morning so maybe I will do another post featuring this pretty little mosque. The terra cotta looks pretty darn good. I'm sure it requires constant maintenance though to keep it looking as good as it does. I got some nice pics of this sculpture on the left too, which I will do an upcoming post about.
It looks quite a bit like Spanish mission architecture in Mexico and the Southwest US. Quite nice. I wonder how well terracotta does?
