Many of the business signs here in Jeddah are quite colorful and many have tons of graphics on them to indicate the type of products they offer. Because there are so many foreigners here who don't speak or write Arabic, the graphics are necessary. In my opinion many of the signs are too busy with too many pictures and too much writing.
Signs on NYC businesses used to be very crowded, so this isn't unique, though the pictures are.
