There are many shops in Jeddah that just sell oud and perfumes, like this one. It's common for the business to advertise by burning samples of their incense in an oversized incense burner outside to attract customers.
Oud is a very popular form of incense sold here in Saudi Arabia. It is also called agarwood and has a sweet woody scent. Some kinds of oud are so rare and so in demand that its oil can sell for 1.5 times more than gold.
I believe that is the first I've heard the term.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. I will follow yours. It is amazing how blogging can open the world for us today.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! The incense must be spreading the aroma all around the area. Fortunately it's in an open area.
ReplyDeleteThat's the first time I've heard of Oud Susie, this is why I love blogging around the world, you learn something new every day 💙
ReplyDeleteI learned something new. Oud is a word I had never heard before but a "sweet woody scent" sounds quite appealing to me. I'm glad to hear that you are staying safe at home even if it means spending the summer in Jeddah. I had plans to go to London again in September but it doesn't look like that will happen. I'm not even ready to go to the hairdresser, flying for 10 hours is out of the question right now. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteOud? Cool, learned something because of you!! And I thank you for that. I love that they provide free samples of a sort to attract customers.
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of incense.
