When there are two or more minarets at a mosque, they are all hooked up to the same loudspeaker system, so they project the calls to prayer simultaneously. However the beauty of the calls to prayer happens when different mosques with different adhans (the person who sings the calls to prayer) in the surrounding area all broadcast at the same time. It's hauntingly beautiful and spiritual - hard to describe the feeling one gets when hearing it.
Thank you Susie, for explaining about the minarets. In the Netherlands, where I grew up, in my younger years the bells of the church tower were rung, before the service on Sunday started, and on feast days, when specific events were taking place. A totally different culture with a different God! Thank you for sharing this experience with All Seasons, and have a lovely week, Jesh
These are beautiful.
