MANY SPECIAL FOODS ARE TRADITIONALLY EATEN DURING RAMADAN, SO THERE ARE HUGE DISPLAYS IN SUPERMARKETS FOR POPULAR ITEMS.
I'VE NEVER SEEN A DISPLAY LIKE THIS IN A SUPERMARKET BEFORE
MEAT PIES CALLED SAMBUSEK ARE WRAPPED IN A SPECIAL DOUGH IN THE SHAPE OF A TRIANGLE AND THEN FRIED - A VERY POPULAR ITEM EATEN DURING RAMADAN. ABOVE IS THE DOUGH. BELOW IS SAMBUSEK, READY TO EAT!

ReplyDeleteI love food traditions. So interesting.
ReplyDeleteWe were in Dubai a few years ago during Ramadan. It was rather boring and the only drink we could have was a very expensive bottle of wine delivered to our room.
ReplyDelete....quite the store displays. I've read that during Ramadan people consume more calorie than normal. Thanks for sharing Susie.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a display in a supermarket like that either! It gives a whole different atmosphere to the place :)
