PROBABLY 99% OF THE BUSINESS SIGNS IN JEDDAH ARE NOW SUPPOSEDLY ILLEGAL. APPARENTLY THE CITY IS FORCING THE REPLACEMENT OF SIGNS WHICH DO NOT COMPLY WITH ITS NEW REQUIREMENTS - GRAY BACKGROUND AND RAISED 3-D LETTERING. IT IS NOT CLEAR WHEN THE NEW RULES BECOME EFFECTIVE OR WHEN BUSINESSES WILL BE PENALIZED FOR NON-COMPLIANCE, HOWEVER THERE ARE INDICATIONS THAT MANY SIGNS ARE BEING REPLACED NOW.
THESE SIGNS ARE NON-COMPLIANT AND WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED
FLAT SIGNS THAT ARE BACKLIT LIKE THESE ARE ILLEGAL NOW
NOT SURE IF THIS SIGN'S BACKGROUND IS "GRAY" ENOUGH
THE SIGN BELOW FITS THE NEW REGULATIONS, HOWEVER UNFORTUNATELY THIS BUSINESS IS NOW CLOSED.
