Besides the amazing assortment of fresh squeezed juices available in Saudi Arabia, another very popular drink here is sugar cane juice.  You can see the stalks of sugar cane standing to the left of the shop's door.

One thing that is simply amazing here in Saudi Arabia are the plentiful fresh squeezed juice shops.  There are more varieties of juices than I ever imagined.

Many of the juice shops seem to have competitions going on when it comes to interior design and decor.  The colorful fruity design elements are works of art.

Hundreds of fresh fruits are formed together into a variety of shapes and geometric designs to create a delightful and appealing display.

Have you ever seen fruit juice shops like this in your part of the world?  I must say that I've never seen anything like these displays in the cities I've lived in in the USA before moving to Saudi Arabia.

Sugar Cane for Juice

Sugar cane juice is a popular drink that is available here in Jeddah.  There is a special machine that extracts the juice from the sugar cane, which you can see stacked outside the door to the left of this little business. 

Goodies: Create Your Own Juice

Perhaps due to the fact that alcoholic beverages of any kind are strictly prohibited in Saudi Arabia, the selection of fresh juice drinks is plentiful and imaginative. Many restaurants offer a create-your-own juice bar, where the customer selects the fresh fruit she wants, and then an attendant creates the concoction on the spot. This delectable array of fresh fruit is the juice bar display at Goodies Restaurant in Stars Avenue Mall. Goodies is a Lebanese restaurant, set up like an amazing deli, with huge glass display cabinets where the customer walks through and selects from fresh meats, salads, pastas, vegetables, desserts. The order is then cooked to perfection and brought to the customer. Yum!
