Saudi Arabia: Camel Milk

Camel milk is readily available in Saudi Arabia at most grocery outlets.  It even comes in small single servings.  We like to get our camel milk fresh.  There are places we can drive less than 15 minutes out of town and have the camel milked right there on the spot for us.  My husband boils the heck out of it - he likes to use it in various ways for cooking.

I suppose the only places here one could pick up camel milk might be in a store with Middle Eastern goods... but perhaps not even then.

Wow I fancy drinking camel milk. Must have some zing to it eh. I remembered that Gaddafi wanted to take his camels to New York so as not to miss the milk. Interesting sideline here is Donald Trump rented out his ranch for the camels and collected a hefty sum for that. Trump never returned the money.
We have camels here but they roam about like in Australia. No one takes care of them with a view to milking them. May be I should start thinking of that as a possible business venture eh.
Thanks for the post anyway.

Update on the Camel milk.
I showed my wife your blog and she thought it was Americanbedu of blessed memory. She like the camel milk story and said the milk is available here but not popular. Guess I will start searching for places where they sell the milk.
I wonder if you can help me with the different ways your husband use the milk. Please. Am a fan already of Camel Milk thanks to you.

Hi My Abubakar - Camel milk can be used in cooking and is said to be more healthy than cow's milk. My husband has made puddings and custards with it as well as using it in other recipes when milk is called for. You can even add it to your coffee.
American Bedu was a friend of mine. She is greatly missed.

Thank you for the comment. And thanks to you I have located a place I can get the milk fresh, not very far from my neighbourhood. I boiled the heck out of it and cooled it n the fridge. Very nice as it flows down the throat. Thats about all I use it for except for using it in my tea and coffee.
