Skywatch: Lantern Sculptures

Super large copies of smaller common objects are representative of many of the sculptures of Jeddah.  Here are two giant lanterns which stand in the divider island of a lovely boulevard.

After looking at the rather depressing post on your other blog, it is nice to see something that is a bit more cheerful.

These lantern sculptures are unexpected. Then scrolling through your blog I learned there is a lot of sculpture in Jeddah. Didn't know this. Thanks to the into to Jeddah. And thanks for visiting and for your comments.

"Super large copies of smaller common objects are representative of many of the sculptures of Jeddah." I see a fascinating sociological study to find out why that is so.

Love them though. They're as colorful as the Ikea children's area!
