Our World: Walking thru the Flowers

The 10th annual Yanbu Flower and Garden Festival opened on March 3rd.  The event attracts thousands of visitors every year.  There is no admission fee!  This festival holds the current Guinness record for the largest flower carpet in the world, an achievement accomplished two years ago in 2014 when almost one million flowering plants were used.

Beautiful - I don't think of blooms and the Middle East landscape. These are bright and cheerful - a lovely wakeup contrast to our gray skies and rain in the Pacific Northwest of the US.

The daffodils are blooming in the fields in Skagit, Washington, and the tulips won't be far behind. They grow the flowers for the bulbs, not their blooms. - Margy

Wow! That's so pretty. I too don't think of blooms in the Middle East because all we ever get to see on TV is sand and dust. It's awesome that the festival is free. Here one has to pay to get to see the multitudes of blossoms in the fields.
