Markets like this are a great place to buy handicrafts, and we often do. We are careful, however, about buying food on the streets in cultures where we are not sure of the compatibility with our immune system and bacteria tolerances.
I buy street food everywhere, I've never had a problem. If you choose the popular looking vendors, who specialise in one thing, they have a high turnover and there are fewer opportunities for random nasties to make a home.

Hi Dave - Street vendors selling food everywhere in the world should be avoided. I've seen too many undercover videos of their practices.
