Can you read all these pretty scripts, Susie? Guess what. A few days ago a dozen of my neighbors and I started a spoken Arabic class! To our surprise (and my dismay) the teacher started immediately with the alphabet. (We were expecting to learn only to speak and understand, but not to write and read.) She is a Bedouin school teacher who lives in our town. Wish us luck; we will need it!
