This is what it looks like during prayer time in a busy shopping area of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, called Makarona. Carpets are provided for women to pray on the sidewalks outside the closed shops.
So are all those cars stopped for prayer time? It's hard to tell... maybe they are because I don't see any tail lights shining. So all the traffic just stops? This is interesting. I never thought about traffic and time for prayer before.
Judith - No, traffic does not come to a stop during prayer times, but I have seen cars double and triple parked outside mosques at prayer times which can make driving through streets near a mosque quite difficult. Most of the cars that are visible in the pic are parked.
