SkyWatch: Saudi Arabia Sandstorm

Sandstorms in Saudi Arabia are common at certain times of the year.

They can be debilitating - schools and businesses are closed, people are hospitalized with breathing difficulties, and visibility can be diminished greatly causing more car accidents than normal.

After seeing these and reading your comments, I guess I should be happy with our cold and snow here in upstate NY. Cheers and happy holidays!

We get occasional sandstorms in the local S California deserts, but I don't think they are as severe as you get. Very hard to take photos in a sandstorm. Nice captures!
