SkyWatch: Camel in the Desert

I haven't seen many animals in the wild here in Jeddah, as I don't get outside the city much, so I do get excited when I see a camel on the loose.  The purple and blue hued mountains in the distance made this photo even more special.

A beautifully composed shot. The camel's walking around like he owns the place.

Hi William - Thanks for your nice compliment! I really didn't have time to actually compose the shot - he was trying to run away from me. Most of my shots are not composed at all as they are taken from inside a moving car. I am really lucky to get a few decent shots out of the hundreds I take every week.

Gorgeous shot and you are right, those mountains add so much to the scene.

This is a terrific shot. I love how the camel's hump mirrors the outline of the distant mountains. Your skies look like ours here in NorCal!
