Many mosques in Saudi Arabia also incorporate domes in their architectural details.

From this perspective of the same mosque, one cannot see the dome, just the crescent moon symbol which tops it.

Jeddah: Mall's Stained Glass Domes

One of the malls we visit in Jeddah has many domes with different designs and colors of stained glass. 

Gold Dome Mosque

Surrounded by cement, sand, and interesting looking trees, this golden domed mosque seems to sit in the desert all by itself, when it is actually located in a rapidly developing sector of Jeddah.  Many mosques are designed with beautiful domes, and almost all have minarets equipped with loudspeakers to announce the five daily calls to prayer far and wide.  

Our World: Interesting Rooftop

There are many buildings and homes that feature domes here in Saudi Arabia.  Domes are a very typical Middle Eastern architectural element.  This newly constructed building features three open domes on the rooftop.  Looks like it would be a splendid place to throw a party - I'd love to go up there one day and see the space for myself!
