Jeddah Scenes from a Mall

Family entertainment areas in malls are commonplace in Saudi Arabia.  Due to the severe heat, outdoor activities are limited here during much of the year, so big air conditioned malls offer indoor amusement parks where kids can have fun while moms shop.

There are unlimited fancy dress shops in malls too - plenty of fashions fit for a queen.  Malls also have food court areas as well as higher end restaurants too.

Talking about food. What do people usually eat in there? Rice and Lamb?

I can’t imagine it being too hot to be outside. Great spaces provided for people!

Our nearest mall us an hour and a half away, so it's a great treat to visit yours!

Our malls are like ghost towns at the moment. All indoor dining, including food courts are closed for a month.

The only mall I can think of here with amusement rides inside is out in Edmonton, Alberta.

One thing I remember as a kid camping with my parents in Canada was large communal shelters with picnic tables and places for people to cook. This was before RVs and trailers were popular. Rain here during the summer is more common, so tent campers needed places to continue enjoying the outdoors. - Margy

Wow, that is such a foreign concept to me! But it's understandable in your climate. Thanks for sharing :)

Your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week is greatly appreciated!!
