Jeddah Abandoned Car Ongoing Problem

While this problem has improved somewhat over the years, the streets of Jeddah are still impacted with disabled and abandoned vehicles that take up valuable parking spaces in neighborhoods all over the city. Plus they are such an eyesore.

Jeddah Sidewalk Parking

Sidewalks are supposed to be for pedestrians, but this sidewalk in Jeddah is being used to store vehicles long term.  Parking is a big problem in many areas of the city, but seeing this strikes me as ridiculous, in my opinion - especially if the sidewalk belongs to the city.  I just don't understand people doing things like this...

Jeddah: Villa with Covered Parking

There are many tented parking shades like these around Jeddah.  Some of the big malls also have covered or underground parking or parking garages. As you can imagine, the heat is relentless in the warmer months.

Careful Where You Park

Parking in Jeddah always seems to be an after-thought.  There is definitely a parking shortage for businesses and residential areas in this city.  And then I see things like this all over, making parking even more difficult ...

Jeddah: More Abandoned Cars

One of my pet peeves of Jeddah is the lack of concern of all members of the community in making the city a better place for all.  And one of the biggest problems is the garbage, junk and piles of rubble everywhere that no one seems to take responsibility for.

There are hundreds - no thousands - of disabled, wrecked, and abandoned vehicles all over the streets of Jeddah.  These cars are not only an eyesore, but they often take up valuable parking spaces in a city with far too few parking spaces to start with.

Jeddah: Abandoned Cars

The problem of abandoned cars continues to plague Jeddah.  As if the rubble and trash everywhere wasn't enough of a blight on this city that has so much potential, abandoned cars covered in dust detract greatly from Jeddah's aesthetic appeal.  Disabled and wrecked vehicles can be seen all over the city, and no one seems to care or do anything about it.  They take up valuable parking places in a city that has far too few to begin with, and they are a public health hazard and a glaring eyesore.

Jeddah: Double Parked

A big problem in Jeddah is the lack of adequate parking on many streets.  Double parking is a common occurrence.  It's almost as if parking in general seems like it was an afterthought in this city.  This photo shows the black car to the left of the men in the center and the white car on the right both double parked, blocking in other parked vehicles.

Jeddah: Still a Problem - Abandoned Cars

I've complained about this problem many times before.  Abandoned cars are everywhere around the streets of Jeddah.  These disabled or wrecked cars are covered in dirt, dangerous, and unsightly, sitting for months and years taking up valuable parking space and making driving horrendous in busier areas.  At least the one shown here isn't on a busy thoroughfare of the city as many are.  If I were in charge, I would haul off these unsightly useless vehicles and charge and fine the car owners for it.

Our World: Jeddah's Abandoned Cars

One of my biggest pet peeves here in Jeddah are the unsightly abandoned and disabled vehicles that are parked all over the city.  They are covered in a thick layer of dust and many have flat tires or show evidence of accidents.

It's depressing seeing these unattractive pieces of junk sitting on the streets of Jeddah.

These abandoned cars take up valuable parking spaces.  They need to be dealt with and removed!

I have tons more photos of abandoned vehicles around this city.  Why can't something be done about this problem?

Some empty lots are filled with dozens of abandoned cars that have been sitting there for years.  There are also dozens of abandoned cars taking up valuable parking spaces at the Jeddah airport too.

The rubble, the garbage, and the abandoned vehicles - such a lovely sight!  NOT!

Jeddah: Street Parking

In Jeddah, as in many large cities around the world, parking can be a big problem.  But what makes the parking problems even worse in Jeddah is all the disabled and abandoned vehicles which take up valuable parking space and affect traffic congestion.  Most of the parked vehicles you see in this picture are abandoned.  They are covered in thick dust.  One car even has the back window broken out.  I wish something would be done about this unsightly and unhealthy problem.

SkyWatch: Parked in an Intersection

This photo shows one part of a huge intersection in Jeddah.  The white car to the left, the gray car in the center and the red car behind it are all parked in the middle of this very busy intersection.  Until recently there were no traffic lights in use at this intersection, where at least 20 lanes of traffic converge.
